Heaven by Mur Lafferty, is something of an enigma for me. I have only had the pleasure of catching the first section of this multi-layered, multi seasoned podiobook. I have worked through the first section of Heaven, which chronicles the tale of Daniel and Kate, two friends who die in a car accident and then find themselves questioning the perfection of Heaven and go on a journey to learn what they can of the layers of Heaven. It is not my place to spoil anything, so i will leave it at, there is much more to this story. The delivery of the story is excellent, and while I personally have a hard time listening to one person delivering the narrative without much change in inflection, I found this story was easy to listen to this way. This is remedied in later episodes as well as another narrator is introduced. It is a very pure and interesting take on the idea of Heaven, and the mythos within.
In the end, Heaven is a great tale that shows evolution in both production and skill as it moves forward. It is a great example of the audio novel format, and that format in regard to the Creative Commons universe. A tale that begins as a journey of self-discovery becomes so much more! Just take a listen! As is the case with many of the novels I choose, this series is COMPLETE and all five parts are up for you to listen to!
